Homepage hero — Lighting

A fifth slide for the homepage slideshow, built to sit alongside the four already live. Six real pendants from Pendant & Suspension, each rendered from its own packshot, on the same warm plaster the other four use. The left of every frame is deliberately empty so the headline has somewhere to live.

SHIPPED — slide 5 is live on the working theme. You picked C over A (“too much blank space”). Two changes I made on the way in, both flagged below and both one-line reversible: the crop was rebalanced, and the slide was switched to the ink-text colour scheme so it renders the way the mock on this page showed it. Scroll to what shipped.

These come out of the generator at 3168 × 1344 natively — the exact pixel size of the four live heroes, so there is no crop and no resample on A and B. C, D and E were shot 16:9 and cropped down to the same frame.

Change 1 — the crop was rebalanced

C came off a 16:9 roll, so it had to be cropped to reach the hero frame. The version on this page was bottom-anchored: it left 5px of air above the seagrass pendant and 271px of dead wall below it. Since your note on A was about blank space, I measured the actual product extents — shades run y 380 to y 1265 — and centred the window instead. Same composition, 141px of air top and bottom, and the empty band at the bottom is gone.

Change 2 — ink text instead of cream

The mock on this page draws the headline in dark ink. The theme's scheme-16, which slides 1–3 use, actually renders it in cream with a dark radial pocket behind it — so the slide would not have looked like what you approved. Your own rule from slide 4 covers this case: very pale banners take scheme-9 (ink text, no pocket) because on a pale wall the darkening “reads as a stain.” The plaster here is pale, so slide 5 now runs scheme-9, same as cast iron. That also pins the button to the site terracotta.

The phone crop

Built and live too — a separate portrait composition, not a crop, at 1536 × 2752 native, matching the other four exactly. Fixtures sit in the lower two-thirds with the top third clear for the headline. Two rolls were made; the second is live, the first inverted both Beverly tapers into short funnels and was discarded.

The five candidates

Included for completeness. The wall returns into a corner behind the headline, and that vertical line cuts straight through the text block — the reason I'd rule it out.

The copy

The four live slides run subheading → short title with one italic word → one sentence → button. Three titles that hold that shape:

Before it can go live

The other four slides each carry a separate portrait crop for phones (rs-mobile-hero-*.png). This one needs the same. I'll build it from whichever frame you pick rather than guess now — a pendant row reframed to portrait is a different composition, not a crop. Everything else is ready: file, copy, link and slide position.
