Pre-launch defect sweep

Every product and collection on the live store, checked for defects that aren't on any existing list. Jessar × RevShift · 2026-07-30 · 1986 products · 99 collections

First, the reassuring part. I checked whether the 1,315-image purge left any product stranded: zero. All 24 products currently without an image were already imageless before the purge began — none of it was our doing. Seven of them had usable photos sitting on the drive, which I pushed during this sweep.

1 · Identical product titles needs a decision

18 groups covering 47 live products where two or more listings carry the exact same title. A buyer scanning a collection sees four “Outdoor Wall Mount — Black” and cannot tell them apart, or which to order. Some are genuinely different SKUs that need distinguishing titles; some may be true duplicates to archive. Needs Michael's product knowledge.

2 · Live products with no image at all photography

17 remaining after I pushed 7 from the drive. These render as a grey placeholder on collection pages. Nothing exists for them anywhere on the hard drive — this is a genuine photography ask.

3 · Box shot is the main image photography

Only 2 products, both Xtricity, and neither is fixable by reordering — every image they own is packaging. 1-69931 (Ceiling Fixture) has 4 images, all box renders, one of which is pure back-panel artwork. 1-60202 (CFL T2 23W) has exactly one image and it is the box. Both need a product photo; the drive has only packaging for them too.
Worth noting: my automated check first flagged 123 products here. Visual review knocked that to 2 — Jessar names 3D product renders with the same “_3D_” token as box renders, and dozens of products are literally named “3D” (Icon 3D tumblers). The raw number was noise.

4 · Weak primary images quality

25 products lead with an image under 800px, and 68 lead with a non-square image (the collection grid expects 1:1, so these get cropped). Mostly Xtricity electrical. Good candidates for the re-roll automation.
